Professional Training

Most courses offered, including the powers to arrest course, meet the Security Personnel Continuing Education Requirements as outlined in sections 7583.6(f)(1) and 7583.7 of the Business and Professions Code. Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion. Peacekeeper Security Services, a licensed PPO and BSIS baton training facility, provides comprehensive California security training.

BSIS Licensing Information

Upon successful completion of the course, students receive a certificate of completion. Peacekeeper Security Services, a licensed PPO and BSIS baton training facility, provides comprehensive California security training.

POWERS TO ARREST AND APPROPRIATE USE OF FORCE 8-HOUR COURSE

This is a two-part course designed to provide you with essential California security training. Part-1 is a self-paced online course, while Part-2 is conducted in person at the Peacekeeper Specialized Training Institute. The initial 8-hour course includes 5 hours of appropriate use of force training, which is taught in person at our facility located in Solvang, Santa Barbara County, CA. Completing this 8-hour course is necessary to apply for your BSIS license and also serves as a pathway for BSIS baton certification. Additionally, this course can be taken for annual refresher training to fulfill your continuing education requirements. If you're renewing your valid security guard license, attending the in-person training is not required unless your card has been canceled or expired. 2026 BSIS 8-Hour Continuing Education and Refresher Course

This course offers California security training and fulfills your BSIS Continuing Education requirements for security officers. It features training material covering essential topics, including:


- Powers to Arrest, focusing on roles and responsibilities along with emergency and medical response considerations - 2 hours

- Conflict and De-escalation Techniques - 1 hour

- Liability and Legal Aspects - 1 hour

- Appropriate Use of Force (minimum 2 hours)

- Observation and Documentation (report writing) - 0.5 hour

- Implicit Bias and Cultural Competency - 0.5 hour

- Mental Health Bias, Stigma, and Communication - 1 hour


Upon successful completion of this course, we will assess your progress and send you a certificate of completion for BSIS, along with your training records. Whether you are engaging in BSIS baton certification or enhancing your skills, this training is designed to equip you with the necessary knowledge.
